Victoria Gymnastics COVID 19 procedures:

Until April 8th, 2022, upon entry to the facility, all individuals 22 years of age and older must show their BC Vaccine Card and I.D.;  indoor youth recreational sport for people under 21 years old or younger are exempt. https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/proof

Along with the registration form, parents are required to complete a COVID 19 agreement.

Masks (well fitting, 3 layer) is 'encouraged' for everyone 3.5 years and older who enter a Victoria Gymnastics facility - preferably N95 or medical grade  

All students must wear socks – some exceptions i.e. balance beam disinfected between use.

Equipment is cleaned before classes.  High touch areas (door handles, hand rails, washroom fixtures..etc.) are disinfected thought the day.

Once in the facility, all individuals are 'encouraged' to use hand sanitizer before toughing the apparatus  - especially between each change to a new apparatus.

Students are ''encouraged' to bring sanitizer, a drink (water only). 

It is imperative that parents pick up and drop off their children on time as students will be entering and exiting immediately upon the start and conclusion of class.   

Facility will only be accessible 5 minutes before the start of your child’s class.

'No' class viewing at any time until June 30th, 2022 due to the immune compromised amongst our staff.

ATHLETE PROFILE: BEN MARTIN

GOLD MASTERED

Ben Martin (age 13) started with Victoria Gymnastics in 2006 at the age of 4 ½. Over the last 9 years Ben

has worked his way through all the CANGYM colour levels and attained his GOLD MASTER in March.

Ben joined the recreational program in Parent and Tot and spent a short time in the Performance group

before joining the competitive program in 2009. That year, his first competition was the Delta

Invitational where he placed Silver All Around. Last year at the same competition he earned 7 medals (1

bronze, 4 silver, 1 gold and Silver All Around).

Ben likes gymnastics because it makes him strong and his favourite events are floor and rings. He has

made good friends at the gym including Dziva, Alexsei, and Oliver. He also likes to participate in the

Santa Claus and Oak Bay Tea party parades each year with many other Victoria gymnasts.

Gymnastics has taught Ben the importance of setting goals, being resilient, and to keep trying even

when things are hard or scary.

Ben hopes to start his Coach In Training certification in the Fall.
